English I, a required, year-long course for ninth graders, is composed of required writing assignments, the study of world literature, a review of grammar with the addition of more advanced concepts, and required reading. The course is designed to increase the skills needed to improve reading comprehension and writing.

If you miss three or more classes between 8/18 and 12/19, you must take and pass the semester exam to receive credit for this course.

You may schedule to make up work and/or tests for 7:45 am on Tuesday and Thursday of each week.  Also, you may visit during lunches A, B, & D.  Remember, you must schedule your visit in advance.  Three days are allowed for make up work/tests.

In order to demonstrate organizational skills and keep information needed for semester exams, each student should have the following sections in his or her English I Notebook:
 
Grammar
Writing
Stories
Vocabulary
Notes
 
All information needs to be mainted in the folder/binder.  Near the end of a grading period, a major grade will be assessed on notebook contents/organization.
